About Dance Showdown

Launched in 2011 by Epic CIC, Dance Showdown is one of the fastest-growing youth dance events in London. This dance event provides a professional platform in front of an audience of over 800 family and friends, for over 200 children and young people aged 7-19 years old (or up to 25 with a lifelong learning difficulty and/or disability (LLDD)), to share their love of dance and movement, encouraging and promoting health and wellbeing.

Dance Showdown is an event that brings dance and performance to talented and aspiring dancers from different backgrounds from beginner to advanced level and gives them a unique experience to perform and showcase their talent.

Our vision is to increase the scope and reach of the project to a wider audience by increasing the visibility of dance, nurture the talent of young people whilst exposing them to new experiences, and promote dialogue, diversity and the excellence of dance.

This unique experience to perform on a stage celebrates and showcases young people’s passion for dance and movement from schools and community groups throughout the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, alongside established youth dance companies and guest artists from the best of the UK's dance industry.

Winners of Dance Showdown are given the opportunity to further develop their dance skills through classes and workshops with leading dance companies through scholarships and awards. Over the years we have been overwhelmed with the support from so many highly acclaimed dance organisations such as Pineapple Performing Arts School, English National Ballet, ZooNation Dance Company, Crew 42, Impact Dance Academy, London Studio Centre and Sylvia Young Theatre School.
