For Young People by Young People

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2018 Apollo Awards. It was a great event in celebration of young people and their achievements with Epic. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did!A big thank you to all the young people and the Youth Forum who made this all happen. It wouldn't have been possible without their commitment and dedication. See you next year!

The Apollo Awards is an event organised and led by young people to celebrate the achievement, development, and dedication of their hard- working peers in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. This event will be taking place on the 9th of November and will involve a themed ceremony, performing acts, and speeches from youth forum members.

This year the theme chosen for the event is Memories and young people have reflected on why this theme is so important to them:

"As young people we find it important to make memories so we can look back on what we have achieved in life. Memories help us reflect on how we are as young people and the step we need to take as we transition into adulthood" -Holly Moorhead.

This year's Apollo Awards will also celebrate young people's sports achievements by presenting the winners from the London Youth Games. Young people will be presenting awards in the following categories:

  • Spirit of the Games

  • Disability Sports Award

  • Outstanding Achievement (Team & Individual)

Epic CIC believes that positive childhood memories can shape young people's confidence and help build a stable future. That's why this year's Apollo awards will look back at young people's journey with Epic, recognise their achievements and create new happy memories for everyone involved.

Who can be nominated?

All nominees must be Young people aged 13 to 25 years old, who live in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and/or attend school, college or sport/community provision within the borough. In some categories, nominations can be made for individuals and or groups. For the category of adult leader the nominee needs to be associated with an organisation within the Royal Borough as either a volunteer or a member of staff.
