Creative Arts with Epic

Over the years our Arts Programmes have achieved many things:

  • Helped play an important role in the healing process for young people who have experienced loss, bereavement and tragedy - last year's Art Explosion event showcased a powerful winning piece that centred on the impact of the Grenfell Fire.
  • Given young people creative outlets to express themselves on issues that they are passionate about and affect them.
  • Transformed and brightened places and spaces around RBKC that have benefited the wider community.
  • Created opportunities for young people to be mentored by industry leading professionals - inspiring them to pursue careers in the creative sector.

And importantly - on a daily and weekly basis have created a space for young people to step away from the many challenges of their day to day lives, to focus on something that is unique and important to them.

Past programmes:

Fashion & Customising

Over the October Half term 10 young people took part in a Fashion and Customising programme held at Golborne centre where they got the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of upcycling, Embellishment and creating garments out of recycled materials.  As well as this young people experimented with Tie-dye and learnt how to customise t-shirts, Bags and Snapback Caps using fabric pens and paints. It was a really creative week and all young people got to take their creations home to show friends.
