The School Games is the national competition framework for schools. It’s a celebration of competitive sport that involves all young people in School Years 3 to 13, of all abilities and backgrounds that aims to create a lasting legacy for London 2012.

Epic Sport co-ordinates the School Games programme in Kensington and Chelsea. 25 Primary Schools and 8 Secondary Schools currently regularly compete against each other in a wide ranging programme of competitive sports leagues, competitions and sporting festivals.

Why get involved?

As a school you can use the School Games to:

  • To increase the number of young people participating, performing, volunteering and learning in school club and competitive sport.
  • Complement other initiatives in the school which encourage a wide range of young people to participate in sport, such as Change4Life sports clubs.
  • Through four levels of competitive sport, young people have the opportunity to get involved, have fun and challenge themselves to achieve their personal best.

The School Games Mark:

The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels.

All registered schools are able to apply for the Mark and further information is available via the school dashboard, the customised content portal for all schools logged in to the website.

"At Servite, we really see the benefit of participating in the School Games. The fun, competitive atmosphere they bring builds confidence in our children and alongside such initiatives as the PlayMaker training, which develops excellent leadership skills, our children have become enthusiastic and active with a love for sports!".
