Are you aged 16-19? Would you like to become a sports coach? 

Our Sports Coaching Bursary Scheme is a unique opportunity for young people to gain Level 1 and Level 2 sports coaching qualifications.

The bursary scheme offers you the flexibility to choose which coaching course you want to do and when to do it (this is subject to availability from the National Governing Body of that sport).

You can apply to the bursary scheme at any time of the year.

As a condition of course funding, you will be required to complete a minimum 10 hour voluntary placement within the Epic Sport team or with a local community sports organisation relative to the chosen sport. (Please see voluntary hours section below for further details).

To be eligible for the scheme:

  • You must be aged 16-19 years (up to 25 for young people with disabilities);
  • You must live, or go to school / college in Kensington & Chelsea.
  • You must have a desire to work / volunteer in the sports coaching field;
  • Successful applicants will be required to fulfil 10 hours volunteering within the local community in their chosen sport;
  • One reference will be required in support of your application;

Other information:

Our bursaries are capped at £250. This amount should cover most Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualification courses. If the course you wish to do costs more than this please contact us for more details.

A deposit of £30 will be required to secure your place on the Sports Coaching Bursary Scheme.
