Epic Summer Activities

London Youth Games 2017

Biggest youth sporting event in Europe. Epic CIC coordinate the team for Kensington and Chelsea every year. We enter between 25 and 35 sporting events in the Games from Archery to Weightlifting. For young people who live or go to school in RBKC.

Dates: Summer finals run from the end of May until finals weekend at Crystal Palace on Saturday and Sunday 8th and 9th July

Next Big Step 2017

An interactive afternoon for young people planning their next step in education, employment or training. Activities will include:

  • A variety of  vocational taster sessions
  • Support with college and job applications
  • Job, apprenticeship and college providers with live opportunities
  • CV surgery
  • Interview techniques
  • Enterprise support for budding entrepreneurs
  • Free Food

MELP 2017

This exciting project is a business start-up boot camp and competition that supports 18-25 year old entrepreneurs to learn more about the world of business. This is open to young people in RBKC, Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster.

Activities take place over 6 weeks( 1 day a week)  and include:

  • Business skills training and planning workshops with industry professionals;
  • On-site visits to, and networking with, start-up companies and sector specific organisations;
  • Business pitch competition for a start-up cash prize.
  • Business mentoring for the winners;
  • Trading space in various locations including a stall on Portobello Market for all participants.

MELP is open to all borough -  RBKC, Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster.

Senior Disability Sports and Arts Programme 2017

This programme is specifically for young disabled people.  A variety of sports and arts activities to learn and develop new skills, build confidence, increase participation and enhance a sense of wellbeing.  Activities are designed to be inclusive and adaptable. Delivered by fully qualified sports coaches.

Activities include: Trampolining, Dance, Multi Sports, Kayaking, Art, Climbing, amongst others.

The programme is open to all young people, however, priority is given to those who live or go to school within Kensington and Chelsea. Please contact Becky to enquire.

Dates: Monday 24th July - Friday 11th August

Venue: Activities take place across the borough, and addresses will feature here soon. For any trips out of the borough, a minibus will be arranged.

Age range: 14-25

Junior Sports and Arts Programme for children with Disabilities and Additional Needs

This programme is specifically for children with disabilities and additional needs.  A variety of sports and arts activities designed to be fun and challenging. Children are encouraged to try new activities in a safe environment. The programme helps children to learn new skills and form friendships. Activities include; BMX, Kayaking, Art, Ice Skating and more.

Children living in Kensington and Chelsea are given priority, but the programme is not solely restricted to this.

Dates: Monday 31st July - Friday 4th August

Venue: The venues vary depending on each activity, they will be listed in full on here. For activities outside of the borough a minibus will be available.

Age range: 7 - 13

Youth Activities

Epic Outdoors Learning and Activities

Kayaking London Youth and Canalside Centre are both running activity holiday projects, delivering Kayaking on the River Thames at Kayaking London and Kayaking, Climbing and Adventure Activities at Canalside Centre. Activities are available for 9-19, are run by qualified staff and are fun and adventurous. Limited space available for 9-12. Please note that activities can and do change due to weather, tide and group abilities. Participants must have a signed Epic participation form and meet 10m swimming ability.

Our CIAG service can help you with:

  • Support with CV writing
  • Completing application forms
  • Mock interview preparation
  • Apprenticeship search
  • Choosing a course and applying to University
  • Help with personal statements and UCAS applications

We also have drop-in sessions to offer support with housing issues, a project for teenage parents (called Break4U) and a mentoring project (ESF CALM) which supports 16-24 year olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

Summer Girls Program

A program over three days for girls/young women 13-19. The program will include a range of activities including art, yoga, cooking, drama, and music as well as a chance to meet others, share ideas, and have fun together. The last day will be an outing (location TBC). Maximum number of participants is 10.
