I soon realised that I was not alone, that the other young mothers in the programme were just like me, sharing similar experiences, trying to make sense of their new life as mothers and the difficulties that this entails when you are a teenager. It was very hard for me to get out of the house and socialise, but I saw coming to the programme as an opportunity to do something good for myself and my child. I opened up to the girls and the staff about what I had been going through and the support I got was overwhelming. I have made life long friends and met so many amazing girls who all bring so much to the group. Referring to a member of staff: She has been incredibly understanding, supportive and patient. She has never failed to go above and beyond to help me. I really struggle to ask for help- I had found myself in a dark place with a lot of problems and I didn't know how to resolve them. As soon as I spoke to her she put a plan of action in place and had the ball rolling from the moment we spoke.
