Citizenship and Community allows children and young people to take an active role in civic society and local neighborhoods. At Epic, we help to do this in a number of ways. The Member of Youth Parliament for Kensington and Chelsea campaigns and advocates on young people's behalf and represents the local area at the UK Youth Parliament.

We strongly encourage young people to volunteer in their local community through work experience placements and neighborhood projects. We also support children and young people to be involved in international citizenship and democracy projects that raise personal, social and cultural awareness.

Mentoring

Young people's mental health is a real area of interest currently and there are various approaches on offer to try and protect young people from potential mental health issues. One of those is mentoring. Mentoring is a very powerful and personal way to enhance the lives of young people.

Recent years have seen youth mentoring programmes increase in a variety of settings, such as schools, community centres and faith based institutions as well as being combined with other support services such as teaching, counselling and job training.

The Epic Mentor Programme is designed to help young people achieve their full potential. If you feel you might benefit from having a mentor to support you reach your goals then contact our Mentor Coordinator who would be more than happy to have a chat with you: [email protected]
